Smaller engine with turbo, acceleration is ok but far from great when needed

  • Great car except for the seats. - 2017 Honda CR V

I like everything about the car except the seats are so uncomfortable. I guess I should have done a longer test drive. This car has everything I want in a car especially all the safety features but it is so uncomfortable to drive that I dont want to even drive it more that 10 miles. If I go farther than that my back starts to ache and my right hip hurts and I just want out of the car. Ive tried some cushions but they are uncomfortable also. Im not sure what to do now.

  • Doesnt compare to my (previous) Chrysler 300 - 2017 Honda CR V

The good - I love the adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping features. The car handles well for an SUV with a high center of gravity, and it has a tight turning circle radius. The auto-walkaway locking system is nice - it just locks itself if you forget, and walk away. The sound system is not very good, certainly not like any of the name-brand ones, as in other brand cars. The road noise is vary loud, and may be due, in part, to the tread pattern on the tires. My back-up sensors work fine, but the warning speaker is in the rear of the car, and the volume (not adjustable) is so low the it cannot be heard over normal conversation in the front seats. I have the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) and Forward Collision Warning (FCW) systems in my car, but they are inoperative even though theyre turned ON - *another* dealer visit soon. And, if they did work, the manual lists so many exceptions that their usefulness is uncertain. My mileage, in ECO (economy) mode is around 30 mpg, with the 1.5 liter turbo engine. The same mileage that I got in my big Chrysler 300 with a 3.8 liter non-turbo V-6. And the Chrysler was way quieter inside. Ill probably be looking at ways to add soundproofing to this car in the near future - it needs it. All that being said, I like the car - mine is the Obsidian Blue color - I didnt get the Lava (which looks really nice in the brochure) because I couldnt see one in person (none on the lot). One really bad thing I have discovered is the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). It uses the axle speed sensors used by the abs system. As the Honda book states - all four tires must be the same "brand, model, size, and of equal wear". So, if you, like I had to do, have to replace just one tire, it will not be identical to the others, and the TPMS warning system will constantly alert and alarm. This CANNOT be reset or turned off. I have confirmed this with Honda. This means that, if you need to replace ONE tire, you MUST replace ALL FOUR..

  • It is a little pricey for a 4 banger - 2017 Honda CR V

Quiet, easy ride. Very happy with purchase - miss my Prius mileage but no comparison to comfort and driving experience. Needed an all purpose vehicle with all of the newest safety features available.

I needed an AWD vehicle and drove several models. I chose the 2017 Honda CRV because I liked the interior arrangement and redesigned body style. I also like the reliability reputation of the Honda brand. The resale value is top notch. I hope my instincts prove true. So far I really like this vehicle.

  • Is Honda the best?????? - 2017 Honda CR V

This is in response to "John R on 06/14/2017" on the ACC issues that he is having with his 2017 CRV. My wife and I purchased a 2017 CRV EX-L without Navi on a Wednesday and that Saturday our ACC shut down. We took it to the dealership and they claimed that the factory did not set the system up correctly. After 3.5 hours at the dealership we where on our way out the door. The very next Saturday we had the very same thing occur again. We have our Sun Pass for automated toll payments just under the forward sensing system module which is right behind the rear view mirror, for which the dealership stated has been known to cause issues with the ACC system. They moved the Sun Pass and re-calibrated the system again (Claiming that there was another update for the system) and out the door we where. 35 days into ownership my wife was driving on a toll road when the shadow of an eagle on the road caused the ACC system to bring the vehicle to an emergency stop in the middle of the highway. Thankfully she was only one on the road at the time. (Speed limit on road is 65 MPH) 44 days/2300 miles into ownership on the CRV I was going through GA up I-75 when my ACC system shut once again. I contacted the dealership that the system had shut down again and they stated for me to bring it to them so they could trouble shoot the system. The Service writer had also informed me that 2 other CRVs at that dealership where having the same issue and they had to replace the transmissions to resolve the issue with ACC. I returned to my home town took them the vehicle, and they now have had my vehicle for 4 days and with a few parts replaced they are claiming to have corrected the issue this time. (the fix, they had to replace the forward monitoring module and camera which is behind and below the "H" on the front of the vehicle). We are currently working with the dealership to take back the CRV because my wife and I have lost our confidence in the safety system of our CRV. The dealership has been great. The service writer did state that all of the data that he has seen through Honda that the 2017 CRV is the only vehicle having this issue with the ACC and it is only a hand full of them. The fit and finish could be a bit better, ex. heated seat dont get very hot/anemic power ($700 through Hondata will fix this)/leather seats are not all leather seating surface/carpeting is very thin and very cheap (just offer the Poly Weather Tech mates and call it even)/paint is very thin (bugs on front for 2 day and now the paint shows marks where the bugs were/waxing the vehicle you must use extreme care because you can buckle the hood and some of the body sides. (seems like stretched aluminum foil). Headlights fog up ALOT and chrome finish accents for headlights does not seem to fit right.
